CASE STUDIES

Every young person we work with comes with their own story, their own challenges and their own untapped potential. These case studies reflect the real, lasting change that dedicated 1-1 mentoring can bring about when the right relationship is built on patience, trust, and genuine care. Helping young people engage, progress and thrive

The Challenge

Many young people at Chaigeley School can find it difficult to engage with external services, making it important to provide support that felt accessible, consistent and genuinely understanding. The school wanted young people to feel comfortable taking part, while also gaining meaningful value from the sessions.

The Solution

Thrive Support delivered sessions using a patient, supportive and relationship-led approach. By taking the time to understand the young people and meet them where they were, Thrive Support created an environment where students felt able to engage positively, participate consistently and build trust with the team.

The Outcome

Students have engaged very well with Thrive Support as they work through AQAs including football skills, rugby coaching and building resilience. The feedback from the young people is consistently positive. Teaching assistants reported that all young people enjoy attending, engage well and are getting a great deal out of the sessions. Staff also highlighted that the young people are progressing really well, with Thrive Support’s approach, understanding and support making a genuine difference.

“Leon is engaging with your programme in a way that he has not been able to with other support. He has declined key worker sessions, Speech and Language Therapy (SALT), therapeutic sessions, and other interventions, yet he consistently looks forward to attending your sessions and genuinely enjoys taking part.

Since starting the programme, Leon has only been involved in one physical intervention at school, which is a significant improvement. The positive relationships he has built, and the consistency of the provision have had a noticeable impact on his engagement and overall wellbeing.

Thrive has become a valuable and trusted part of Leon’s support, and we have seen clear benefits from his Friday’s session.”
